About Me

Little woman with big boy dreams. Writer, dreamer, creator. Indonesian - Dutch. I fill my days with meditation, yoga, dancing, martial arts like BJJ and boxing and doing anything fun with good folks. The kitchen is my territory. It's my lab where I experiment with veggie and vegan dishes from all kinds of (Asian) cuisines. I am always open to other people's ideas and I love to learn new things. Your music taste is probably the best currency to bring to my home. I am into all kinds of stuff, from Kendrick to Portugese fado to 90s rap but Jamaican soundsystem music is my number one genre. Oh, and I love my plants.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think everything changes when money is brought into the game. When you invite people without expecting something back, and when you stay at people without a transaction, it makes you humble. You have to adopt to the generous people that welcome you. It's good for you ego. I like the concept, and I want to be a host because I also want to contribute to that system.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Dub, reggae, dancehall, psychedelic cumbia, world tunes, hiphop, wavy rap, future r&b, fado, anything good really.

Books: Hunter S. Thompson is the O.G. if you ask me. I also love James Salter, he's one America's greatest writers ever, no doubt. And Hemingway. Aside from literature I love Asian philosophy, any good books about Taoism, zen buddhism and meditation. For example: Siddharta, The Tao of Wu, The Monk who Sold His Ferrari, Zen and the Art of Motorcycling maintenance, Autobiography of a Yogi and books like Bass Culture and Funny Boy about reggae.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling through India on my own where I had adventure on top of adventure. Met the craziest, most inspiring people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach stuff, maybe in the kitchen or mind / body wise like mediation. We practice Vipassana at home every day. Or maybe you want to learn something about storytelling / poetry / creative writing / brand content.
