Overview
About Me
Love to meet new people from different places, and I love to do things that facilitate travel and exploration for others.
ABOUT ME
I am 34 years old, a feminist women's rights attorney. My husband works as a software developer and at his family business. We recently moved home to Seattle and we love it here all over again.
I am fun, honest, like to talk and laugh, and I love a good philosophical or political discussion. I've only couch-surfed twice, and loved both. We've hosted a couple times (when we were living in Brooklyn) and it's been great.
My husband Jon is a great complement to me - very low-key. He's never trying to impress or be fake, and he's pretty good at accepting folks just the way they are. I call him Bearman, because that's his spirit animal. I am likely to be in the living room talking with guests, while he is in the back room reading or coding. But we both like to spend time with people, just in different doses.
PHILOSOPHY
Mostly utilitarian, atheist but grew up religious and have positive feelings about both. I aim to eat a 90% plant-based diet (for health, and to help animal suffering and the environment). I love reading, analytical discussion, goofy animals, cozy things. I value my life-long friends as well as meeting new people with unique things to say.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host when I can - have only surfed twice but liked both!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once in Fez, once in Beijing. We hosted a few times in New York and enjoyed it. I have friends and casual acquaintances crash with me all the time. My husband is wary of hosting people, he's worried about safety and doesn't want our home full of weirdos, but I'm confident we can take the necessary safety and vetting precautions and that it's a good service to other travelers and great way for us to expand our horizons.
Interests
My favorite activity is a good conversation - I also love food and cooking (especially plants!), dance, yoga, walks, rowing, hiking, reading, karaoke, berrypicking, scuba diving/snorkeling, spending time with friends, brunch, throwing dinner parties, and being out on a lake or at a cabin. I love goofy animals.
I am very feminist.
My husband Jon's favorite activities are reading Reddit and the news, building startups, reading everything about foreclosure real estate, doing deep dives into very random topics that interest him (the latest is Bitcoin and MIT poker math classes). He loves to bicycle, he actually biked from Chicago to Seattle a few years ago and wants to do another long trip. He takes a nightly bath.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I technically am a high school dropout, yet went to an ivy league law school! (okay okay, I just started college early - but technically I am a high school dropout...very proud of that...)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English or help edit papers, can teach about the US legal system, about feminism (strengths and weaknesses), can teach about Hebrew and Judaism
Learn - curious about many things, I love to learn
Share - I always share my food.
