Über mich

Hey ho! If you want to do cool stuff and try new things together - I'm in, as long as I find it fun! Hoping to become a great singer with an awesome band one day, to learn to play all the amazing musical instruments, to learn all the mysteries of traditional drawing and digital painting, photobashing and editing, sawing, woodworking, ecobuilding, baking, making LARP props; hoping to live my life travelling the world and meeting wonderful people - ideally, having a lifetime of free time, creating lovely things off all sorts for myself and other people, not having to worry about money. Yep, I'm a dreamer. I do believe dreams exist to be fulfilled, though! :)

I'm currently going places quite a lot, so I might not be in Bristol when you are - still, if you want to meet up, message me, I might just be around!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Because it's awesome, obviously! Nothing better than meeting new people from all around the world, of different cultures, customs, beliefs, languages, cuisine... Everyone has so many great stories to tell, so much to show and teach the others! It would be really great if some - if not all - of these new relationships could stay and turn into long-lasting frienships :)

Interessen

Gods... I love so many things. Cats, chocolate, crafting things out of other things, drawing, singing, learning new languages and skills, even if they seem useless; games... both tabletop, video and live action fun; everything fantasy - novels, series, movies, games; music - mostly folk/world music - though really, pieces of all genres get to me if there's something in it I adore. Singing. Karaoke. Travelling (though I haven't done much of it yet!). Wandering aimlessly through forests, mountains, meadows and such, pretending to be a woodland fairy, gathering edible plants on the way! Writing, sometimes. Cooking, sometimes. Watching cool stuff, much more often 🙃

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music... First, there was metal, then, it got symphonic; then - it went smoothly onto folk thanks to Nightwish and Ensiferum, and now, there's european folk - and that's my biggest inspiration, currently! Though I still love all of the mentioned before, as well as rock music and other inbetween/around genres. Synthwave, lo-fi and vaporwave are also somethings I'm happy to listen to; so is ambient and hippie/witchy music. Then again, it's not about genres; it's about paticular songs that have this -something- that really gets me!

Movies... I enjoy many, especially animations, musicals and fantasy, but I mostly appreciate the silly, geeky & epic, with good production and humor! Scott Pilgrim vs. The World will always be my great number one to recommend to every cool person I meet. I absolutely adore Kung Fury, too, and The Guild, though it's a web series - if you know any similar ones, please recommend them to me!

Books... Though I'm a fantasy fan, I mostly read non-fiction these days. As for things that actually have a plot - anything fantasy/sci-fi/generally not real is something I'll probably enjoy. I remember I really liked Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman's Dragonlance Chronicles, Jack Campbell's The Lost Fleet and Naomi Novik's Temeraire series' - and, obviously, sir Pratchett's Discworld - gotta finish them all as soon as I lay my hands on the missing books!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I went to an internship abroad, to a big multiculture company, with expats from all around the world, with their stories and inspiration to learn from; then, I met a certain exchange student who encouraged me to be brave and start doing what I always wanted to do, I fell in love, and ended up moving to the UK, amidst COVID and Brexit. Not sure if amazing, but it was a hell of a ride!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I want to learn as many practical skills as I can. Mostly crafting (wood, leather, sewing, so on), playing (and creating, that would be amazing!) the instruments (celtic harp! Various flutes and whistles! Ethnic drums! Hurdy gurdy! And other folky ones! And piano, as it's the basic one, good for learning music theory...), coding, writing awesome stories and songs, bettering my drawing, graphic design and singing (and learning overtone singing!), bushcraft & survival skills, herbalist & alternative medicine skills, home building, renovating & makeovers, using various tools, cooking fancy food & brewing delicious liquors... You get the idea!

What can I teach you... Hard to say! I can show you some basic stuff in Photoshop, general drawing, singing, pixel art, well, the stuff I do. All basic - I do too many things at once and I'm not a pro in any as a result... but I'm okay with that. I'll eventually master what I want the most. I can also teach you some Polish, if you want, and tell you which of the local wild plants are edible, and worth eating! And I'm always in for exchanging amazing music!

And what I'd like to do with you? Anything fun! Sing and jam with you, play games, watch movies, drink in a pub, especially if there's karaoke going on, gather round the fire with other cool people, or go out to the streets at night, dressed as zombies, and hand random people flowers. :D

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

As stated above! And I'll certainly get you something from my country that's not popular in yours, if only I find out what it is - usually it's so obvious that a certain food product, for example, is eaten here on a daily basis, that I'd never think it's seen as something exotic elsewhere!
I can cook for you too (if I'm not out exploring and marvelling at absolutely everything around) if you tell me what you want and have the products - though I warn you, I'm not a pro cook in any way, usually I just cook basic stuff for myself ;)
Also, if you need some help in your daily chores, count me in!
