Hi! I’m Shivam – a curious concoction of design geekery, endurance running energy, and sustainability dreams (with a pinch of nerdy mischief). I’m the type of person who’ll run a marathon for fun, sketch ideas in the middle of the night, and still manage to obsess over how to make the world a better, more sustainable place.

By day, I’m deep in my PhD research – unearthing ways design can create impact, spark change, and build a better tomorrow. By night (or sometimes mid-morning), I’m either plotting my next DIY Arduino contraption, dreaming up speculative futures, or trying to convince my playlist to stick to just one genre (it never listens).

I believe in partnerships over hierarchies, in action over perfection, and that even the smallest ideas can snowball into world-changing movements – especially when fuelled by enough filter coffee.

I vibe with design thinking, strategy-making, and future-forging – but I also love deep conversations, quiet nature walks, street food adventures, and turning random objects into absurd inventions. If it involves people, purpose, or playful chaos, count me in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to experience a place is through its people – their stories, their quirks, their everyday magic. Hotels are cool, but they can’t offer spontaneous conversations over home-cooked meals, secret sunset spots only locals know, or the joy of cultural exchange that feels like an old friend reunion (even if we just met five minutes ago).

As a designer, researcher, and full-time curious human, I travel not just to see but to connect. I love swapping stories, learning local ways of life, and sharing a laugh – or a good playlist. Whether it’s talking design and dreams, running routes in your city, or just sharing a lazy morning chai or coffee, I’m here for real connections and meaningful moments.
