We are Thomas and shihiayah, two Americans.

My (shihiayah) passion is designing businesses that build cool or better ways of doing things in the world. I think a lot about how best to live in the world and love to understand the many ways that people live. So I like cultural anthropology, philosophy, etc. Conversations. Open people! And cooking.

Thomas loves plants and understanding how the physical world works. He is the friendliest person you will ever meet. He likes meeting new people and having new experiences. He says he's up for almost anything!

We are new to couch surfing but we are not new to traveling as guests in other people's homes. We would like to meet you--not just find a place to crash for free! We are happy to bring a bottle of wine, cook a meal, and answer all of your questions about Trump (haha). Feel assured: although we do not yet have any references, we will be respectful, and hopefully even fun.

We would like to make new friends, and learn about each other's countries and cultures, experience what it is like to live in a place and not just sightsee like a tourist, etc.

Thomas has walked halfway down California by himself, subsisting on beans and rice.

Shihiayah once wrote a winning proposal for a $1.8 million dollar consulting contract for her employer to provide technical consulting skills for a huge geothermal renewable energy project in Kenya. Woohoo!
