About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To stuff my brain with cool stories, my ears with new tunes, and my belly with good food.

PHILOSOPHY

All my old profiles sound silly and teenager-ish, because they're always about ecstasy and wit and magic and irreverence and living life with passion and intense desire. Burn out don't fade away, blah blah blah.

But it's true. That's what I'm all about. I can't stand being bored, but luckily it doesn't take much to keep me engaged and curious. I want everything, I need nothing, except for life to amaze and exhaust me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To stuff myself full of as many cool experiences as I possible can - on a budget. :P

Interests

Sewing, painting, knitting, tabletop RPGs, viddygames (console and PC), songwriting, ukulele

Right now, I'm reading Ready, Player One

El Liberinto del Fauno, Blade Runner, The Last Unicorn, The Dark Crystal, Waking Life, Naked Lunch, Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into the Future
Latest film I fell in love with: Mad Max: Fury Road (SO GOOD YOU GUYS)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I remember the first time I saw the Pacific Ocean. It's much, *much* friendlier than the Atlantic, at least in my experience. Much more playful.

It was the middle of the night, and a friend and I were visiting friends of his in San Francisco. And they said "well, the Ocean is just across the street." I didn't really think that it...actually...was. I crossed the street, ran over a little sandhill, and and and and and....stripped off my shoeses and sockses, because I was running right down into the water! And it was icy cold and perfect, and the wind whipping my cheeks...oh!

Teach, Learn, Share

I know history. I know stories. I know Loki and Herakles and their constant apologies, I know the poor tragedies of the House of Atreus. I know the story of the Russian Man who went to see God, and I know the story of Grandmother Chou's magic rice paddle, and Anansi and the Strange Moss-Covered Rock. I know about Brunel and Balzagette and Babbage, about the early days of the Royal Society. I always want to know moremoremore.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I play the ukulele,
I'm good at doing hair
I make wonderful pannekaken!
