About Me

CURRENT MISSION

gain connections and glimpses of this world

ABOUT ME

I was born in Israel but we moved to the USA when I was very young. I grew up in a suburb of Minneapolis and went to college in Madison, Wisconsin. After graduating, didn't know what to do with myself and so went to Korea to teach English and eat. A lot. Did some odd work/research afterward and then moved to sunny Brisbane to go to medical school. Afterwards, I came back to the US for some time, had an amazing 10 weeks in South America, and then moved to Pittsburgh, PA to start my medical training in Emergency and Internal med, which i completed and am now working as an ER doc.

I am very easy going and can be fun in most moods. I love hanging out with a few drinks, nibbles, and good people, sharing stories and laughs. Humor and food is the entry to my heart.

PHILOSOPHY

the connections we make in life are the most important; treat others as you want to be treated; down with hypocrisy; russell's teapot; I don't believe in Karma but I do believe that doing Good will come back to you, not by fate but by making the world better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a few times in the US and met-up with people in Bolivia, Rio, and Colombia and found it to be such a great help.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

annie hall, high fidelity; salman rushdie, david mitchell, Let The Great World Spin, Specimen Days; I like a lot of music, mainly indie but hip hop and oldies are also golden.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i've seen a mother give birth on all 4s and, in the process, poop on her baby. Either that or hiking to Annapurna Base Camp by the light of the stars

Teach, Learn, Share

a ant cannot die falling from any height. its weight to body-surface ratio is such that it reaches its terminal velocity (maximum speed due to gravitational acceleration minus air resistance) at too slow a speed to cause it any harm.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Colombia, Egypt, Georgia, Guatemala, Nepal, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, South Korea, United States
