About Me

I really like being around people, especially younger kids. I do lead intergenerational education tours through Berlin once a year and I just finde it fascinating how fruitful a tour with grandparents and their grandchildren is.
I do have a quirky sense of humour. I would describe it as dry though.

I am studying Cultural Anthropology at the moment and do already have a Major in Graphic Design.
I enjoy laughing until I cry.
I get up early. But I am absolutely quiet and can entertain myself for quite some time.
I enjoy serious conversations about just anything. And it is important to me to get to know the people I encounter. I do not enjoy pure small talk.

I once took the bus to Latvia and I spent 27 hours in that bus. Shortly after this I thought I would never do that again and spend such a long time on a bus. But nahhhh definitely worth it.

I can be crazy, loud and weird but I can also be very quiet and absorbed in thought if something really occupies me.

I´m also a member and volunteer of an NGO in Germany that does cultural exchange programs (usually for teenagers).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting and engaging with new people. I love to listen to their stories, their memories and how they view the world and the crazy things happening all around us at the moment. I just think that these conversations and encounters do put everything in a new perspective for myself (and maybe the others?).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a hard one. I think I never really developed a particular taste for any kind of music. Yeah, I know that's a bit weird but somehow I had other things to do than this.

I like to watch all sorts of movies. I like David Lynch's movies, We need to talk about Kevin, documentaries, Flowers of Freedom, and many many more

I usually read a lot for school so I don't have that much time to read for pleasure lately. If I get a chance to read for pleasure, then I would probably read science fiction (I started with some Russian authors lately). I do actually collect books...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climed Angel´s Landing some time ago. I can't think of anything else here yet.

Did a trip for 3 weeks covering 29 US states, around 40 National Parks and a lot more jammed in a Nissan Versa with 4 people and a bunch of camping supplies, eating Tortilla Wraps (corn Tortilla Wraps, the kind you actually have to cook before eating) uncooked with *make an educated guess* Peanutbutter and Jelly...jummy but after a lot I never want to eat that again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you (and maybe younger people around you) how to make faces, how to ask good questions all the time and how to be curios every day about everything and anything.

At the same time I want to learn more and am always willing to listen to other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Memories from places I have visited, my passion for books and teenagers (they are so great) and maybe I can transfer some of my calmness onto my host(s).

I treat everybody with respect because you never know through what a person had to go through and what made her or him the way they are and behave today.
