ABOUT ME

When I joined CS in 2008 no verification was needed. It was all based on trust. I do understand the benefits of verification but I still trust people who aren't verified. Please feel free to contact me in any case.

- PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT contact me because you want me to help you with your German via skype or other means of communication. We speak English at home + I definitely DO NOT have time to help you cuz I have 2 small children, a house to renovate, work + a huge garden to look after. The little bit of time I have I want to spend with my husband, not skyping with some stranger.

- PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT contact me if you want job information or are trying to find a job in Germany. I'm NOT your personal job finder. If you wanna work in Germany, search for a job online. DO NOT misuse couchsurfing!!! The next person to contact me about a job will be reported.

I'm married, our daughter, Caroline, was born on Aug. 6th 2010, a 2nd baby, Christopher, was born on March 10th 2012; we have 2 cats + live on a small farm in a small town where we have a well-working public transport system. Had a Celtic wedding with a real Druid who also spoke Celtic, I loved it!I used to live in the US + I've also lived in Italy. I love Bryan Adams music + go to various concerts a year - once I almost got fired because I went to a gig + had to reschedule classes.Meet with friends once a week, we hang out, speak English + have cocktails.I support some animal rights organizations as well as the anti GM food movement.I collect children's books in all the languages I speak.I love soccer, table tennis + hiking. I've done WWOOFing before. My experiences in England weren't that great bt Canada + Ireland were awesome! If you want to WWOOF with us, no problem, we have more work than we can handle alone. I also dabble in herbs, I make my teas from herbs that I collect in the forest, + my hubby + I go mushroom hunting every fall. Yes, I've had mushroom poisoning thanks to a DOCTOR who recommended a certain mushroom + claimed to eat it every year. Well, it was one of those inedible ones which made me puke my guts out. I learned from that to only pick the mushrooms I personally know to be absolutely harmless. In 2006/7 we had an exchange student from Bulgaria whom we showed around Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland + Austria a bit.x-mas markets + everything that has to do with the traditional Aleman carneval can be visited from us easily - just take a scenic drive with the Black Forest Tram (various tickets available, I'll help you choose).

PHILOSOPHY

18 TIL I DIE

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can't host right now due to extensive renovations. But I'm happy to hook up for a hike, if you want to explore our area.
I offer my couch + beds to anyone who wants to spend time in the northern Black Forest! I like to meet new people + share stories.
When you CS with me, pls bring your own food. I neither have the time nor the money to provide it for you. You can use my kitchen to prepare your food + my fridge to keep it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My spontaneity has already led to sharing rooms with total strangers I'd just met at the Greyhound station in Miami, Florida, for example, or also in Italy. I'm flexible, + I'm game for anything that looks like fun.
My couchsurfing experiences in England, Italy, Sweden and other countries have been fantastic, have met really awesome people!!!! Looking forward to meeting more folks!
We've had a few couchsurfers by now, from Europe, the US and Asia. We had great experiences with all of them! Hope many more will follow!

BTW, we normally speak English at home as we're raising our kids bilingually, meaning they're acquiring English from us + German from everyone else.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Fav movie: Dead Poets Society, Milk, + chick flicks cuz they make you forget the cruelty of reality for a while; adventure/action/animated pictures + screwball comedies. Music: Bryan Adams + rock/pop. Books: Fantasy

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I can't choose a single one. Everything I've done in my life has been unique + special, whether it was a positive or, at that moment, negative experience. It's always served its purpose, so all in all, everything was amazing.
And my children are the most amazing "thing" that's ever happened to me, I LOVE and ADORE them! Even though they drive me totally + utterly mad every day...

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

With me you will have proof that Germans can indeed be funny + friendly, spontaneous + a little crazy right from the beginning, without a warm-up period.
Join our lively family and experience us to the fullest - LOL
I'm interested in learning everything about you, your life + culture that you feel comfy sharing with me.

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

A glass of nice wine or any other kind of (non) alcoholic beverage, my knowledge of the area + hopefully a few great hours - or even days - spent in each other's company!
As well as whatever they feel comfy taking away with them (-:
