ABOUT ME

Hi, my name's Maciej, call me for short Matt. I come from Rybnik, but last over 2 years I have spent in Katowice. Now I live in Katowice.

I study law in Katowice, biggest city in Upper Silesia, nowadays little bit sloppy and ugly, but which used to be call before WW2 "The little Paris".

I love to travel, meet different people and explore their culture, behavior as well as try local cuisine.

I hate to travel with organized groups or travel agencies such as week in hotel in one place, I prefer freedom, I have to move from one place to another, becouse in our world there are so many interesting places.

I'd like to take part in several interesting trips of the life such as travel with Trans-Siberian Railway from Moscow to Beijing and exploring Route 66 in US-and-A.

I really like local beers from small breweries, they're totally different than mainstream, because you can celebrate the taste and small pieces of yeast as well.

I can play trumpet, little bit piano and accordion. When I was a teenager I was learning in secondary school and highschool after that, but evenings I was spending in music school. Unfortunately I did't have a lot of time for playing computer games like most of young guys, but now I think I understand music from other point of view, as (wannabe) professional.

I love mountains and before end of this year I'm gonna hit the highest Wales peak, Snowdon.

PHILOSOPHY

When I was younger I thought that big money can change my life for better, but now I'd rather spend my life properly and say before my death, I didn't waste my time on this small planet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent 2 days in Bologna with brilliant students from different countries, which gave me posiibility to penetrate part of student life in Italy.
My second time was in Tours (France), for one night only but unfortunately (or in my case fortunately) I missed my plane, and good people who I met on the way, hosted me.

I'a a trumpet player, when I was younger I used to play in small orchestra in my music school.
I love small local Studio Cinemas and low-budget movies.
