About Me

I care very deeply about nature and am fond of living a slow, laid back village life . I prefer travelling slow, taking my time to experience local cultures and explore the surrounding landscape through hiking, biking etc.

I’m good at Yoga, trekking and photography.

I used to work as a Photojournalist in ‘The Times of India’ newspaper for a while and after years of travelling I’ve found a home in the Himalayas working with tribal communities on rural entrepreneurship projects.

I majored in Psychology, English & Media/Communication.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet local people and connect with travelers like me I’d like to visit places and leave with more memories (of people) than photos (of tourist attractions).

Couchsurfing for me is a special social networking app. I feel it’s often taken for granted that people are opening their homes to complete strangers in order to make long lasting connections. So, I make sure every Couchsurfing experience is precious to me.

Another reason why I prefer to use Couchsurfing is because locals know their place the best
and their knowledge and guidance can truly help me experience a place more authentically.
And of course there is the added bonus of it making your travels cheaper.
