Music, Movies, and Books
Books
I wish I read more but time ugh...
Anyway, I'm really into Harry Potter. My college actually has a building that looks like the Great Hall! Apart from that, Jeffrey Archer is one of my all time favorite novelists. I've read a lot of Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, Frederick Forsyth and John Grisham. I also like lighthearted fiction like PG Wodehouse, but tend to gravitate towards crime and detective fiction ever so often.
Movies
Not gonna lie but I'm like two years behind on these tbh. I'd watch anything as long as it's good though. A few of the recent movies I've enjoyed include Wonder Woman, Spiderman Homecoming and the new Minions movie (mainly for Agnus and of course the minions).
Music
Okay I swear I'm not weird but I like classical music, with Chopin being one of my all time favorites. A few of my favorite composers are Puccini, Mahler and Bach. I also enjoy the opera and musicals. Some shows I've enjoyed recently are Le Nozzi di Figaro (opera) and Les Miserables (musical).
I also sing Indian classical (Carnatic) music. A few of my favorite artists are Ranjani and Gayathri, Abhishek Raghuram, MD Ramanathan, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, Lalgudi Jayaraman and ML Vasanthakumari. I have recently been trying to learn another form of Indian classical music called Hindustani music. I was very fortunate to have seen Pandit Jasraj perform live recently, which inspired me even more!
I'd sing along to most pop music on the radio (realistically I'm gonna mess up the words though). I saw The Wonder Years, Walk the Moon and Daya perform live within the last two years. All in all, my taste is pretty varied and I listen to a lot of music of various genres.
Other interests
I am very passionate about doing non-profit work. I have been working with a local non-profit for the past three years and tutor kids about 3 times a week. I really like children, and have worked with Children's Sickle Cell Foundation, Beverley's Birthdays and Homeless Children's Education Fund of Pittsburgh during my undergraduate career through my university.
