About Me
Hi everyone! I'm Li Shuaiwei from China. I currently live in the northernmost province of China — Heilongjiang, but I study at university in Guangdong province in the south, right next to Hong Kong. This contrast between the cold north and the vibrant south has given me a rich perspective on China's diverse cultures and lifestyles.
This is my first trip to Italy! My itinerary is:
Venice: next Wednesday to Friday
Florence: Friday to Sunday
Rome: Sunday to Wednesday (next week)
During the day I'll be exploring Rome's historic sites, and in the evenings I’d love to spend time with my hosts — cooking, chatting, laughing, and exchanging stories.
What I Can Share
I believe the best part of travel is making real connections, so here’s what I can bring:
Authentic Chinese home cooking — I enjoy cooking together in the kitchen. We can make delicious Chinese dishes (stir-fries, dumplings, noodles, etc.) and even try some fusion with Italian ingredients!
Language exchange & teaching — I love language teaching and can help you learn practical Mandarin Chinese through fun conversations. We can do language exchange sessions too!
Chinese culture, politics, daily life & travel tips — I’m happy to talk openly about various aspects of China: traditional and modern culture, political topics, everyday life in the north and south, and the differences across this huge country. Since I study near Hong Kong, I can also give you practical advice on how to travel in China — from planning itineraries to hidden gems, transportation, and cultural tips.
AI, self-media (content creation), and fun activities — I’m passionate about artificial intelligence and self-media. We can discuss how AI and social media are changing the world, content creation strategies, and media differences between China and the West.
Special experience: Chinese fortune-telling with AI — I can offer an interactive Chinese metaphysics / fortune-telling session (based on birth date or traditional methods) combined with AI insights. It’s entertaining, often surprisingly accurate, and a great way to have deep yet light-hearted conversations.
I’m easy-going, clean, respectful, and always try to make people around me smile and feel comfortable. Whether it’s deep talks about culture and politics or just joking around and having fun, I enjoy both. I can’t wait to learn about Italian life while sharing a piece of China with you!

I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe the most valuable part of traveling is making real human connections and experiencing a country through local eyes, not just as a tourist.

I want to share my Chinese background — food, culture, language, and unique perspectives on AI and modern life — while learning about Italian culture, food, and way of living. Staying with kind hosts and having deep or fun conversations is what makes travel truly memorable for me.
