A filmmaker and screenwriter from Bombay. I'm a lawyer by education and have been working in the movie business for the past 5 years. I've been writing for Hindi films and television and have also been working to produce them. Its exciting work and has had me travel various part of the world to film variously crazy Bollywood films! However, it has also kept me super occupied and vacations don't come around often for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling as tourists will never give anyone a chance to experience the city. You might be able to explore it, but not experience it. 2 reasons why someone should choose to couchsurf, rather than check into hostels, hotels and inns:

1. To live with locals and through them, explore the neighbourhoods of the city.
2. To learn the local history of the place from the people whose families might have had something to do with making that history.

These are the reasons why one should step out of one's house!

Interests

I'm interested in reading. Stuff like- novels, novellas, treatises, memoirs, long-form reporting, legal history, modern history, film history, and anything which can inspire a story. I go to the cinemas often enough and stream shows oftener. I write stories for a living, but its still an 'interest' and not just a job requirement. And I watch sports on TV . Any kind of sport. If its live at the stadium- even better!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, too many of them to list here all. But currently, I'm rediscovering folk and sufi rock music. Reading the Harry Potter series for the first time (and its wonderful!) and recommending anyone and everyone to watch Mad Max Fury Road.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I co-drove an M4 Sherman tank of WW-II era last summer (African winter)! Even with its steady pace, it pumped up the adrenaline more than jumping off heights and tumbling in whitewater river bends!
