Hi all! I am Mario, a Spanish guy passionate about different cultures and ways of thinking. I spent my first 22 years in Madrid, since then I have been living in different cities within Norway, Mexico, Netherlands, Denmark and Germany. I am currently in Bologna for the next few months.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

To visit places is just a portion of what a trip is about. For me, the most important thing is always meeting new people, different from you, with different habits and ideas. That’s what I like about Couchsurfing, it brings you the opportunity to meet locals, share experiences and get new ones along with them. It’s huge the difference between visiting a place as a regular tourist and doing it with a person from there!

Interessi

As you can imagine, travelling constitutes my main interest: the places you visit, the experiences you share, the memories you get… how one couldn’t like it? Moreover, I love cooking (and of course eating): I always try to add new things from different countries I lived in to my way of cooking, so it may be an interesting mix of traditions. I am also very interested in history (everything began when I was 6 years old, playing Age of Empires II…), and I enjoy very much a nice conversation about different topics.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

The only remarkable thing that I have done is to gather memories! For example:

-I completed the Way of St. James, from Seville to Santiago de Compostela by bike, with my father, when I was 15.

- The North brought me the opportunity to see Aurora Borealis (Canada), and a sunset followed by a sunrise (Norway). Thanks to the South, I have seen hundreds of baby turtles being born on the beach (Mexico).

- I lived 3 weeks in my camper van while trying to find a room in Amsterdam. And I finally got it!

- 11 months of traveling around East and Southeast Asia together with my girlfriend.

As already mentioned, I enjoy as a cook. If you like Spanish food, or would like to try it, you would choose the correct guest :)
