ABOUT ME

I'm 30, a very enthusiastic and optimistic person. I'm sporty and I try to find an intellectual challenge; I want to finish my PhD after returning from China. I'm a bit arrogant, but I know it. I'm about to become a dad, so my world will turn upside down!

PHILOSOPHY

I think the goal in life is experience. I do not believe there is a soul, God or afterlife and I think that experiencing the world and finding your place in it is the only important thing. And even that is a choice, not a necessity.

I believe that we will not impact the world, but sharing knowledge and happiness with those we can impact is the most important reason for this exploring.

I go to meet-ups and meet the people I find I can connect with outside of meetings, share the knowledge and experiences I've had around the world, and at times host or organize activities.

Interests

I like sports, movies, music, dancing, eating, games... That sounds very general and it is. More specific:

I'm a goalkeeper, my favorite movie is 'The Fall', I love Triphop/Lo-Fi/Post-rock/Drum n Bass/Dubstep/Reggae/Metal and a lot more, I love to go out and then dance rather than stand with my drink on the edge of the dancefloor, in China you have to love eating out which I now really do, and I like the comfort of having a few friends over and playing board games and just having a good time, chatting and playing a game, although I'm a bit of a fanatic.

I'm currently teaching stats and psychology which I think is awesome (yes, I know I'm a nerd)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to watch documentaries and in that way expand my knowledge of the world, but also like to follow TV-series such as The Wire, Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother..
I read a lot but most of it is non-fiction..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Varanasi, I was planning on going into the Ganga, the holy river. However, when I arrived I was really sick, and knowing the scientific view of the Ganga I was not so sure. The last day I was there I saw a Korean swimming, so the next day at dawn I entered the river and bathed with the pilgrims. I'll never forget
