Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used to WWOOF, which means staying at Organic Farms in return of some work in the farm. After being in the corporate world, my scopes are limited now, like managing time for vacation and trips etc.
Due to the nature of my job, I have to visit different places. I stay at hotels at company expense. But spending the weekends at the hotels are miserable, having no one familiar around. Work days passes someway, but I need some company for weekends.
I love deep discussions, could range from global politics to world history. Any gender, any age, any race is welcome. We can discuss life, philosophy, loneliness, etc. etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
I am kinda old school who likes old classical songs. I mostly listen to Bengali Classical Music, Tagore songs and other classical artists. I have idea about South Asian music genres including Hindi. I have interest in Sufi music and once I studied Farsi Kawwali and Sufi songs. I have idea about medieval Sufi music of Jalaluddin Rumi, Hafiz, Omar Khayyam etc. I am a regular listener of NY Classical radio channel WQXR.
I am a book worm. I read a lot lot of Bengali books in my childhood, many of them were adaptions or translations of International books. After coming to USA I tried to have some idea about American Literature, I did university courses on American Literature. And I know I am late to start my career
