CURRENT MISSION

I love meeting new people. Though it sounds rather pathetic, each new person is a huge book to read. "Collisions" with other cultures blow your mind, and you get something inexplainable and very intimate - understanding of the world seen by another person. Such experiences make me a happy traveller, adventurer, and explorer.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going guy with many interesting stories to tell, and a couple of attentive ears for listening to others. We'll certainly have something in common, because I love a lot of things in this big-big world ;)

I am also a big fan of my home town - Kharkiv, and it is my pleasure to help others explore it. Come to see my home town - it's beautiful and full of legends and contarasts!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend Lili and I have already hosted nearly 20 couchsurfers. It's always a cool experience, and we love such small feasts in our daily life.

Couchsurfing has changed the world to the better, and we love being a part of it. Sharing is the XXI century philosophy, all-in-all.

Interests

When travelling, I do travel photography and enjoy contemporary and modernism architecture and world music. Sometimes I go hiking: in 2018, for my 30th birthday, I climbed Mont Blanc, on my own :)

When at home in Ukraine, I enjoy cycling, woodworking, and hanging out with the many interesting people surrounding me.

I do business analysis in an IT company for work, and have a woodworking workshop that started as a couple of boards that I needed to join for repair works at home :) Together with my sweetheart Lili, I organize Kharkiv Travel Club: meetups with travelers who go to rare and interesting spots all over the world (a couple of our surfers also presented at our travel club J). Now, we are targeting for a new startup - a board game cafe in our city.

Finally, in pauses between all these projects, I have a music blog where I post about contemporary Ukrainian and foreign music - mostly electronic, nu-jazz, and acoustic folk.

Music, Movies, and Books

House of Cards and Friends are our favourite series. I love thrillers and movies about strong personalities or smart minds: Into the Wild, The Peaceful Warrior, Forest Gump, Ocean's 11, Rock'n'Roller, Untinkable, The Littlle Buddha, 7 Years in Tibet, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked at 2.40 AM with two friends on an empty highway in France knowing just a couple of words in French. And we did it - a local fireman was going home from a disco and agreed to take us right to our volunteers camp.

I also met an amazing girl, we hitchhiked together across Ukraine on the 3rd day after I met her, and now she is my dear sweetheart.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you agree to host me, I will certainly bring something delicious and unusual from Ukraine. I also love cooking, and I can cook something delicious and Ukrainian from products we can get in your local store. You can also ask me to bring something special, e.g. local coins, post stamps, or whatever else you collect.
