Overview
About Me
I used to work in policy & campaigns for a children’s charity and now I’m living the mountain girl life in the Canadian Rockies 🕺🏾🗻🍁
A short summary of me: books, dessert foods, hikes & gigs.
Passionate about boogying and being around nature on a regular basis.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting and getting to know new people. We all have cool and interesting stories to share, CS is a fab way of bringing people together who probably otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to meet.
Interests
- reading
- traveling
- sports
- adventure travel
- charity work
Music, Movies, and Books
In the least most pretentious way I love reading the classics. The Count of Monte Cristo, The Brothers Karamazov and Catch 22 are my all time favs.
What we do in the shadows is my comfort show and I absolutely have to share it with anyone who hasn’t seen it. If my life depended on being able to answer questions on anything, I’d choose Grey’s Anatomy. Or naming all the capitals in Europe.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Not quite one thing but:
- Ran the London Marathon and most recently the Toronto marathon
- Hitchhiked in Switzerland
- Hiking in Kazakh mountains
- Hiked Cascade mountain
- Winning last place on almost all pub quizzes I’ve done
- Living a literal dream lifestyle in Banff
Teach, Learn, Share
My go to meal is a red lentil, sweet potato curry.
I used to work in campaigns which means influencing the government to make system change. I love my job and I love talking about how we do it.
I’m really into history especially geopolitics which plays a big part in deciding to visit the countries I’ve been to.
I love all things nature and have been so blessed that I’ve had a summer & autumn of pure adventure: hiking, cycling, sun bathing, forest bathing, kayaking, paddle boarding, running, camping, singing, boogying, going out, dinner party-ing etc etc
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good vibes & a good time 😎
I haven’t been able to host because no one wants to visit Aylesbury (can’t imagine why).
I’m currently living in staff accommodation in Banff so I can’t host anyone :( but absolutely able to show people around and give a personal Sian’s guide to Banff. I’m hoping to move West Spring 2024 so I’ll be able to host then.
