I'm from South Africa living and working in the United States as an au pair for two years. I've been in Los Angeles for going on 8 months now.
I worked at a hostel back home so I'm quite familiar with the Couch Surfing crowd (but am quite bias towards hostels, naturally).
Vacations in my job are few and far between but I want to see as much of the US as I possibly can during my short two-year stay here. I'm eager to see the country through the eyes of the people who know it like the backs of their hands. :)

Interessen

I love being around people! I'm a shameful tourist and want to immerse myself in all the cultures I come across. I love music, literature, art, animals and food. I'm big on the outdoors and then, of course, the more superficial side of things (aka shopping).

I would be happy to talk your ear off about South Africa. And don't even get me started about the beer.
Though I love food, I will pretty much burn water but I can share some traditional South African recipes with you and help you cook them from a significant distance (it's for your own good).
