À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Explore Europe!

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from east London and have just started studying for a PhD in Norwich. I spent the last year blowing all the money I saved whilst I was a stingy student and took 2 amazing trips to India and South America. It will be a long time before I have the time or money to travel like that again but hopefully through couchsurfing I can stay connected to other travellers and carry on meeting interesting people from all corners of the globe.

PHILOSOPHY

Try everything once!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past I've hosted people in London, from guests in my house and to just showing visitors around the city. I've attended Couchsurfing meet ups in London and Buenos Aires.

I can't host anyone at the moment but I am happy to give any visitors to London (or Norwich) tips/info and if you are planning on travelling in India or South America I can maybe help you out there too.

Whilst I'm studying I'm hoping to explore some places a bit closer to home by visiting lots of European countries!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've have been very lucky to stay with some amazing and extremely accommodating hosts. The highlight of my trip in South America was couchsurfing in Argentina and getting to know the local culture, from Family BBQs in Buenos Aires to road trips through the Andes!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I have quite a varied taste in music from Jimmy Cliff to Two Door Cinema Club to Sean Paul.

I love music festivals! I've gone to at least one music festival every year for the last 10 years. Glastonbury is by far the best but I've had great times at Green Man, Reading and Benicassim (in Spain).

Recently I've enjoyed reading 100 Years of Solitude, Midnight's Children and Motorcycle Diaries.

And I've been addicted to watching The Killing, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Homeland and Girls.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I once travelled from London all the way to St. Petersburg in Russia by train. The last leg of the trip took 3 days from Berlin and a lack of drinking water on board led to us drinking only wine for most of the time. This made the middle-of-the night border crossings with stoney faced Soviet guards a bit tricky...

In India:
Bangra dancing through the streets of Calcutta, riding a moped to deserted beaches in Goa, chilling in the Keralan backwaters and eating at the communal kitchen in the Golden Temple, Amritsar.

In South America:
Hitching a ride with a tour group from Tai-Wan in Patagonia, travelling down the Amazon on a Cargo boat, trekking to the Lost City in Colombia and snorkelling with penguins in the Galapagos.

Pays que j'ai visités

Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Peru, Russian Federation, Spain, Tanzania, United States, Uruguay

Pays dans lesquels j'ai vécu
