Hi, my name is Sid Roorda. I am a Junior at Iowa State University in the US studying to become a Mechanical Engineer. This Spring Semester 2017 I am studying abroad in Denmark at The University of Southern Denmark. I decided to study abroad this semester because I wanted to Travel Europe, Meet many People, Experience new Cultures & Lifestyles, Try New Foods, Hike up Mountains, and obtain an education in a foreign country. Studying abroad has been My Dream for years. I have traveled various countries in my lifetime such as Australia, Tanzania, and Jamaica, and have fallen in love with traveling the world. I can start up a conversation and talk with all kinds of people about anything! I enjoy learning about others, and I would love to travel anywhere with new friends! I look forward to traveling abroad this spring, and I can't wait to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I enjoy meeting all kinds of people and traveling everywhere. My goal is to travel to every country in Eurpoe this spring, whether it may be on the Weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) or during Spring Break. Upon Booking Reservations, I will make my plans according to my Host's Schedule. I would love getting a personal tour of the city, enjoying conversation, and learning about your country.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music: Pop, Hip Hop, R & B, Country, 90s.

I am the drummer in a local country band back home. We play primarily new country music with some classic 90's rock songs. I am a versatile drummer and I enjoy drumming to all kinds of music, not just country (pop, rock, hip hop, jazz, etc...). If you are down for some fun and own an instrument, I would enjoy drumming along!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing experiences I have had in my lifetime is traveling abroad to Sydney, Australia and traveling up the east coast to tour the beautiful country and go snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef.
