Hi out there couchsurfers,
I am Simon, I am from Germany, Kassel, just turned 27, studied Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering and live in a shared apartment with 5 other people right now.

I am an outgoing person, love to meet new people and enjoy discover new cultures. Friends from Germany call me 'Grinsekatze', what actually means, grinning cat. I guess what they want to say is that I am a quite positive person, enjoy life and like to laugh a lot :D.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

How can you get you know a country or city better than by meeting local people. My first couchsurfing experience was in Indonesia and it was just awesome. Our host showed us the craziest spots, I had the best food in my life and we never got bored.

Furthermore, during my exchange year in Singapore I was a part of the couchsurfing community in Singapore. During my one year stay they became great friends and we shared great moments with one another. We celebrated birthday sharing different birthday traditions, played ultimate Frisbee together and celebrated plenty of parties together. I don't wanna miss this time in my life.

In a nutshell, I realized that people who are offering couchsurfing are usually persons like me, outgoing, enjoying life and open for new things. Therefore, I am looking forward meeting more people of the couchsurfing community.

Unfortunately, right now I am living in a shared apartment with five other people. Therefore, offering a place for couchsurfing is not that easy. However, I try my best to convince them of the opposite and that we hopfully soon are hosting other couchsurfers :).

Interessen

Actually there are many things I am interested in but didn't have the time to do. I would like to learn dancing, knitting, cooking, .... However, one of my biggest interests is bouldering. I started bouldering two years ago and can't stop doing it.
In each city I bump into I usually try to find the next bouldering gym.

Other interests I like are politics as well as ecological aspects affecting our planet right now. Therefore, I am always eager to learn more about sustainability and how I can incorporate it in my life.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

My favorit movies are Donnie Darko, Matrix, the Martian, so I would say all these freaky, weird movies ;).
Music, mhhh, would say a lot of different kind of music, but what I really like is German Hip Hop, Rock and sometimes Reggae.
My favorite books are all written by Irvin Yalom, like when Nietzsche wept or the Schopenhauer Cure.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I did a voluntary service in India for one year. During that time I worked with blind and partially sighted people.

Furthermore, I enjoy hitchhiking. I did it once from Germany to Sweden. This was a crazy experience, especially as I was still quite young and a bit paranoid some funny things happen which I like to share if I meet you other couchsurfers. Looking forward to share these experiences with you.

What else, guess, we will find out while drinking a beer and having a nice conversation :).

Oehm, ufff, I can make a lot of funny face grimaces, I can teach you that xD.

I am always eager to learn new things. Even though, I just graduated I still want to continue studying. Furthermore, I am always open for interesting conversations and discussion, exchanging different opinions and ideas.

What I loved to share are my experiences I gained abroad. So if you are planning to go to one of the countries I have been to I love to give you helpful advices if you are interested.

What else could I share, hmmm, don't know, could teach you a bit German if you are interested :). Furthermore, if you loved to try out bouldering, we could do that as well and I show you the most important basics. Of course, I am always travelling with by bouldering shoes :).
