About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring life. Learning and living.

ABOUT US

Embracing life through gaining experiences.. I love to see cultures from within so that I can incorporate new perspectives into my own. I'm a happy and adventurous person, living to love, loving to live :).

PHILOSOPHY
I am grateful to be a member of this beautiful world and am eager to experience as much as I can from it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love meeting new people and hearing their stories. Couchsurfing offers this both while living your own life and while out on adventures. The experience offers something completely different and genuine from the typical tourist stay.

Interests

Sidsel

I love photographic art. I try to bring my camera whenever I go somewhere. I have a thing for street art so I love to stroll around in urban environments and taking snapshots at all cool stuff I come across. Also when in nature I love capturing the magic I see and aim to learn more about photographing landscapes and wildlife. I have degrees in psychology, anthropology and cognitive neuroscience - revealing my interest in many aspects of the intriguing human, her expressions, behaviours and culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movies are The Fountain, Pan's Labyrinth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 9, Edward Scissorhands, The Illusionist, Mirrormask, Mulholland Drive, Horton Hears a Who, The Secret of Kells, Diary of Bridget Jones, The Hours, The Darjeeling Limited, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemptions, The Butterfly Effect, Avatar, The Grinch, Elephant Man, Bonnie & Clyde, La Vita e Bella, Dead Poets Society, Monty Python (all), Sense and Sensibility, The Cider House Rules, Ghostbusters, Chicago, Annie, The Blair Witch Project, The Perfume...

My favourite tv shows are Lost, Friends, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break (1,2 season), SATC, Riget (Lars von Trier). I have recently come across Game of Thrones as well. Not keen on the violent scenes, but otherwise nice!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the most heavily imprinted visual impressions I have within, is for example the vastness and profoundness of the night sky as seen in the Gobi desert, Mongolia.. And also, waking up on the top of the Sinai mountain in Egypt with the dawning sun colouring the red sands of the mountain landscape was just marvellous. Or observing from a hot air balloon the nightly mist caressingly relieve at sunrise from the excruciatingly beautiful sugar top mountain landscape in south east China. So many wonderful, wonderful sights.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn new things from people I come across. Perspectives vary according to cultural background and personal experience. Therefore, I appreciate the potential in random encounters. I love to learn of others' world views and reflections on life, and am happy to exchange ideas about existence over a bottle of wine. What I could teach others is how to juggle or how to appreciate the beauty of colours - I am synesthetic.
