Overview
About Me
I'm a biologist who loves quiet walks in nature, discovering the underwater world while diving, traveling the globe to capture people and places on photo, but I also like being lazy just lying in bed all day watching series and movies with hot coffee or chocolate or sitting in the sun listening to music. I'm a vegetarian which can be difficult in some countries and cultures, but I'm open to try any veggie alternative. I'm an easygoing person, a bit shy at first, but well, who isn't? ;-) After a laugh or two I feel at ease with just about everyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am mostly on the road, so I don't have a steady location (yet). If I have a couch, people wanting to crash on it can do so if I'm available. I've just started to be a surfer myself!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Went for a drink in Leuven, Belgium.
Hosted 3 amazing CS'ers in Faro, Portugal
Hosted 2 travelers in Klaipeda, Lithuania
Surfed 1 night in Stockholm, Sweden
Surfed with several hosts in Brazil
Interests
My biggest passion is photography! I spend a lot of time with my camera to try and capture memorable places and moments in a creative way. I studied marine biology, so I like nature and discussing world problems and fantasizing or philosophising on how to make the world a better place. I love listening to travel stories to get inspiration for making new travel plans. Occasionaly I play the guitar and I like to sing. I'm a curious person, so anything can catch my interest!
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy listening to all kinds of music (from punk to pop to classical)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spend a night in the Sahara desert of Timbuktu (Mali) where it's known to not be a very safe place for tourists. Nonetheless, a couple of us were brave enough to sleep outside our tents in the sand on a dune. It was a bit scary, also with the animals like snakes and scorpions roaming the desert for a warm spot (which would be us)to curl up to at night. The sand fit our backs perfectly and the beauty of the stars and milky way were too asstonishing to even think of the dangers we faced. In the morning the first thing we saw were touaregs smoking pipes waiting for us to wake up. To our relief they only wanted to sell us handmade copperware like juwelery and knives.
