Graduate of Loomis Chaffee in Windsor, Connecticut from Dedham, Maine. I am currently 18 years old and taking a Gap year to travel this summer before playing ice hockey in college next fall of 2016. I enjoy any physical activity at all (sports, hiking, walking, running, etc.) and am looking to do as much as possible everywhere I go. I hope to see as many places as possible between ~June 20th and August 18th, so I wouldn't stay anywhere too long and certainly only as long as I'm welcome. I also am totally willing and able to completely entertain myself as much as necessary, especially in a place completely new to me, so I will only need as much company as you are willing to give!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am taking a gap year between high school and college and will be traveling Europe for the entire summer by myself, so I'm looking for places to stay everywhere I go.

Interests

I play Ice Hockey and will be playing in college starting in 2016 at the University of Maine. Other than that, I also play field hockey and softball, I snowboard, hike, and love to read and write and LOVE discovering great music.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any and all alternative/indie music along with some other music from various genres. Favorite bands are The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys but I also like some more electronic music such as ODESZA and The Chainsmokers. My favorite book is All The King's Men by Robert Penn Warren but I also love some other popular classics like Catcher In The Rye and The Great Gatsby. My favorite movies at the moment are Perks of Being A Wallflower and Wild but I love almost all movies except for horror movies and some action movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's not really "amazing," but when I was 16 I went to Ecuador with a group of kids from all over the world and completed 100 hours of community service in 3 weeks, which was a lot of work. However, while there, I got the idea for this gap year and travel. So if I can get through the summer and make my way across Europe and then home all by myself by the time hockey season starts, I will definitely add that to this (short) list.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to go on adventures. I would love to go hiking, like serious hiking, hiking that is physically vigorous and exhausting but comes with amazing views and a huge feeling of accomplishment. So if anybody's into that then I would be more than willing to accompany you. Otherwise, I am very laid back and (I try to be) pretty low maintenance, so if you can just provide me with a place to stay I can find my way around by myself if needed!
