Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Sierra and I'm currently traveling through the US southwest and Mexico with fellow partner in crime, Dimitri Kouri. I'm new to couch-surfing, but have heard many amazing things and thought I'd give it a go.
A little about me- I am an artist and filmmaker, currently paying (and escaping) rent in Brooklyn, VT. I call Vermont home, but haven't lived there full time in many years. Professionally, I work in Art Direction/Fabrication in the film industry, but am taking some time to follow a few adventures that call to my heart. Happy to meet new people from places big and small.
A little about Dimitri- Brooklyn based Audio Engineer, perpetual nomad. Been traveling North America by motorcycle for the past few years zig-zagging across the US and Canada. My calendar is defined by weather and spontaneity and I'm a sucker for philosophical conversations with road friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are currently on a long and twisty road trip. Two of us, one Honda Nighthawk cb750, an overstuffed backpack we desperately tried to keep light, and the American/Mexican south. We started in Eugene, Oregon in the beginning of December and have four months and many miles to cover. Looking for anyone who would want to share a meal, swap stories, and offer a place to lay our heads!
Interests
Sierra-
Drawing, painting, photography, film -- most anything creative that involves working with my hands. Always interested to learn a new craft and/or way of making. Happy in most any swimming hole, or great expanse of outdoor air. Also goats!
Dimitri-
**Dimitri has declined to write his own "interests" section (he's embarrassed), so I shall write one for him (which will inevitably be more embarrassing).** A wonderful musician, Dimitri has an ear for many things- guitar, banjo, piano, (I've seen him play a very old trumpet once), but also a good story (He loves history. Just ask him about Tecumseh). Motorcycles are his golden chariot of travel, from which he worships the omnipresent knower of all things good-and-evil: google maps. He's always down to engage in a deep and enthusiastic conversation, and welcomes the opportunity to learn from people of all walks of life. He's got truly stellar eyebrows, a pretty great heart, and probably wishes he wrote his own "interests".
