About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeking adventures in beauty

ABOUT ME

I am an idealist and an activist.
I'm an environmentalist, writer, and traveler.
I believe that it is my moral duty to do all that I can to make the world a better place.
I like to be spontaneous and try new things.
I love adventure.
My favorite places in the world are mountains and rivers.
I am in love with the wilderness.
I want to be an environmental and cultural ecologist, an outdoor travel guide, write for National Geographic, and start an international non-profit organization.
I believe in having big dreams.

PHILOSOPHY

Love with a fierce fire.
Have passion for life.
Tell your friends what they mean to you.
Make a difference wherever you are.
If something needs to change, make it happen.
Find balance; meet halfway.
Compromise is a strength, not a weakness.
Hold onto your ideals.
Don’t set limits. Live under a big sky.
You create your own reality.
What you put out come back to you.
Give people the benefit of the doubt.
Treat them as if they are better then they may be.
It’s better to have high hopes.
Being disappointed is better than disappointing others.
See the good in the world. Be optimistic.
Fight for what you believe.
Feed your fires.
Never let go of what you love.
Do what you love and you will be good at it.
People will recognize this and support you to do it.
If you work for love and not money, wealth will come to you.
Simplicity grounds us.
A backpack can teach us what is necessary and that we can carry everything we need with us.
Wild places are a necessity, but all shades of nature must be appreciated.
We must garden even in our cities.
Rivers must run free.
Strive for contentment.
There is a difference between contentment and apathy.
Know where home is.
All children should be loved.
Sex should be sacred.
All people should be treated with respect and given the same rights no matter their background or race.
Diversity is a gift.
Everyone should have access to pure water, healthy food and sufficient shelter.
Community must be built and maintained.
Experience must be meaningful. One must not lose what has happened.
Nothing is simple and that is the saddest and hardest truth in life.
We try to simplify and sometimes it is beautiful, but sometimes it is ugly.
Those who think they know are ignorant.
Hating is easy. Anyone can be violent. It is much harder to love.
The most important thing is to be happy.

In order to be better…
We need to expect more from each other.
We need to believe in each other.
Sometimes that means we have to let go of each other.
Sometimes that means we have to let others be different than us.
We have to say “you can do it.”
We have to say YES
you can.
We have to support each other
Break the habits that don’t serve us
Dismantle our false definitions
And strive for true happiness.

If we asked everyone we ever met three questions:
WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
WHAT DO YOU WANT?
and
WHAT DO YOU LOVE?
Would we care about each other more?
Would we treat each other differently?
Do we even know these answers for ourselves, yet along all the people we love?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have traveled a lot with my family because my mom is an Outdoor Travel writer. We have always traveled with backpacks, getting to know the locals, taking the road less-traveled by. I haven't couch-surfed much before but I am excited to be a part of a community of people who have the same attitude about travel that I do.
