About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Rule the world through the cuteness of small kittens!
ABOUT ME
I am crazy about knitting and many other handcrafts. I live with my boyfriend who's Czech, we met through WoW (of all places, haha).
I am a very calm person, I don't go out partying much and usually prefer to watch tv and knit, play games, surf the web or cook something nice when I'm not working.
I love animals as well and have 2 cats in my tiny apartment.
I am very interested in geology (obviously) and other cultures, languages and customs. I have a silly sense of humour and am sometimes very blond and sometimes very sarcastic. I have a feeling my humour is rather weird, since sometimes when I say something I find hilarious I just get weird looks... :P
PHILOSOPHY
Sigga: Do the best you can every time and don't waste time feeling too sorry for yourself.
Daniel: "I don't know" and "That's a stupid question"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I sometimes host people, I've stayed at a friend that I hosted before but my first proper couchsurf was in the Faroes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I got a french friend over for a whole month in the summer of 2007 and traveled with her around Iceland. I visited her in summer 2008 and hopefully we will visit each other again.
I got a Canadian friend over for 2 weeks. Even though I was working all the time I really enjoyed having her (even if she tried to burn my house down since she got confused with the celcius degrees on my oven instead of farenheit, lol :D ) and I visited her as well in the summer of 2010, we will hopefully visit each other again as well.
I also hosted many other people who were all really nice and I am glad I got to host them. :)
I surfed the couch of very nice people in the Faroes, that's my only proper couchsurf thus far, but hopefully there will be many more!
Interests
Music, geology, different cultures, comedy, nature, animals, reading, surfing the internet, languages, arts and crafts, especially KNITTING! YAAAAY! (I'm a bit knitting-crazy), nerdyness (how can that be interests, you might ask... Well... I don't know! Stop asking all these questions! AAAAH!) I also like manga and anime, but I'm a "beginner" in it. :P
My boyfriend likes playing guitar, computers, technology, anime, manga, music.

Music, Movies, and Books
Sigga: Movies: Interview With the Vampire, Hero, The Emperor's New Groove, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Bridget Jones 1 & 2, Kickass, Avatar, the Hobbit and LOTR, Hunger games, love shows like Sherlock too, and getting into Dr Who as well. ^_^
Music: I can and do listen to anything but metal is my favorite genre.
Books: Discworld, the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones might be a better known name for it)... I really just read anything that interests me but I can't really remember any other books I really like at the moment.
Daniel: Movies: Pulp fiction, Chronicles of Riddick.
Music: White stripes, Led zeppelin, Black keys, Blind guardian, Albert King, SRV and lots more.
Books: Lord of the Rings, anything from Tom Clancy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. february 2008 I saw the aurora borealis dancing above my head where I was standing in complete darkness in vivid colors of green and purple, swirling and swaying about like crazy. One of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen.
Also it was amazing when the Eyjafjallajokull volcano was erupting and I was standing outside in my parents' garden in Snaefellsnes and I heard and felt the explosions from the eruption.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Hmm... Light is both a particle and wave. :D Iceland is situated on a mid-ocean ridge called the Atlantic mid-ocean ridge. In such places the plates are moving away from each other and new crust is being made, about 1-15 cm each year, Iceland is an extraordinary place where you can see the spreading above ground.
Learn: I'd like to learn how to conquer my shyness, and I think couchsurfing is a great tool for that. Talking about pushing yourself out of your comfort zone!
Share: I snore... Is that oversharing? I don't know... :P
