Hello!

I'm Signe and I'm currently on my second gap year after high school. I've always loved travelling and learning new languages and meeting new people. I live in Denmark, and have travelled around in Europe a lot, but I’ve yet to go to another continent, which I’m hoping to do very soon.

As a person, I think I’m very open and positive, interested in a lot of things, especially art, theatre, literature, etc. I can sometimes come off as a little shy in the beginning, but when I’m around people I feel comfortable with, I’m fun and outgoing. So don’t be discouraged if I’m sometimes a little quiet! :)

I love creating things, and am right now applying for studying Illustration in a bunch of different places, because I love drawing and painting, and it’s always been a way for me to express myself. I am also constantly singing and love acting as well.

I always find it difficult to narrow down my personality to a few paragraphs like this, but if you already knew everything about me from reading this, what would be the fun in getting to know each other? :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think exploring a place is an entirely different experience when you see it through a local's eyes and I would love to meet people all around the world to form a genuine connection with. To be quite honest, a partial reason I'm here is also to get out of my comfort zone and become more comfortable with travelling alone and meeting strangers. I find the thought incredible that I could travel to a whole new continent without knowing a soul and still feel like I can meet likeminded people everywhere. That's why I'm on here. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favourite books are A Little Life, Animal Farm, The Secret History, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and His Dark Materials. There is also a poetry collection by Inger Christensen called Butterfly Valley which blew my MIND.

Music-wise I'm not that picky, but I especially love Mumford & Sons, Simon & Garfunkel, First Aid Kit, a lot of Broadway cast recordings, Trixie Mattel and this one album called John Mark Nelson Sings the Moon. It's just so good. But I can honestly get into most kinds of music.

Favourite movies: Dead Poets Society, Pride (2014), La Famille Belier, Ratatouille, Brooklyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Teach, Learn, Share

In general, I'm mainly just hoping to share some good experiences, good conversations and some good laughs. I think I'm quite easy to get along with, and always try to be as open-minded as possible.

I would love to learn anything from you, be that some cool skill that you know, or your favourite café or just a recipe for your favourite meal, I'm in!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing art with people, whether that'd be drawing or painting something for you (or with you!!), singing or playing some guitar with you. I also love books and probably have a book recommendation for pretty much any type of book you'd be looking for.

Apart from English, I speak Danish and German, so if you're interested in learning either of those languages, I'd love to teach you some!
