ABOUT ME

I am a 26 year old journalist from Gothenburg, in the southwest of Sweden. I live in an apartment in central Gothenburg with my boyfriend Lars. The last couple of years I've substituted at different local newspapers and national radio stations.

I play roller derby with Gothenburg Roller Derby since 2012 and it has been a life changing experience for me. Since September 2013 I've been a member of my league's board. Almost all my spare time is spent on roller derby, either it's practice or board work. In 2014 I was part of the group that arranged the Swedish Championship in roller derby. I also participated with my team as a player and we ended up on fourth place.

I also love animals. Almost all of them! Me and my boyfriend do a lot of dog sitting since we don't have a dog of our own.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in karma, even though I seldom use that word. If you are nice to people and do kind things, people will be nice to you and do kind things for you.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm planning a roller derby trip to the US during the autumn of 2014. I'm going from New York in October and then head for Nashville over the WFTDA champs and Dallas for the world cup. I'd love to get in touch with derby people who'd like to host me, hang out with me and/or train with me. Don't hesitate sending a message here :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing and am planning on using it for the first time when I go to USA in the fall of 2014.

We often have people staying at our home already though. When friends of friends come to Gothenburg and don't have a place to stay we never hesitate letting people sleep in our guest room if it's possible.

I have no problem liking people even though we don't have the same taste in music, movies and books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18 I lived in Yarrawonga, Australia for a year as an exchange student. Yarrawonga is a small town on the countryside of Victoria, with about 6 000 inhabitants. At first I was so mad about going there, my picture of Australia was something completely different. In my mind I was going to a place where the beaches were golden and stretched for miles. But Yarrawonga was a great experience and taught me a lot about the value of cultural exchange and how fun it can be when things don't always turn out the way they were planned.

I would really like to learn how to skate in skate parks, bowls and ramps and do all sorts of cool tricks :)
