About Me

IMPORTANT!

Hello, this is Hans Yperman, brother of Stijn Yperman.

I am sorry to report Stijn has unexpectedly passed away a few months ago.

I am not a couchsurfer myself, so unfortunately I don't plan to read messages on this site. If you were a friend of Stijn and want to contact the family, you can contact me at hans dot yperman, at gmail dot com.

Thanks for all the good times you had with Stijn.

CURRENT MISSION

Getting as much out of life as possible

ABOUT ME

I am a Belgian guy currently studying, working and living in the Netherlands. I was born with the travel bug, and since then I've been busy taking the aimless drive, we call life. And to quote some lyrics from one of the stranger bands of the late nineties: Might as well enjoy the ride, and take the long way home.

PHILOSOPHY

Just be yourself, that's the best way to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting as much as I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

London,Barcelona, Singapore at some of my friends houses. Manila,Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Tehran and Esfahan trough the CS system. I myself hosted people from Belgium, UK, Greece and Turkey.

Interests

Travelling, aviation and photography.

  • photography
  • flying
  • aviation
  • traveling
  • surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly rock and punk music, but I am open to anything. Same goes for movies and books, although I have a slight preference for the movies that are labelled strange by the average consumer. Shaun of the dead and the crippled masters are good examples.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying over Mt Pinatubo, a dormant vulcano in the Philippines

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to hear stories about how people live there (ab)normal lives.

Countries I’ve Visited

China, France, Hungary, Iran, Malaysia, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Belgium, Netherlands
