About Me

I use travel as a learning tool. Living this way gives me freedom to read, write, and defy the conventions of our time. I'm getting to be a better "performer" on my unicycle, but whenever I let a distance become the measure of myself, I become less. Life is best when you stop for the flowers.

I strive to be an interested person, rather than an interesting one.

"Throw off the bowlines! Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade wind in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
*Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in meeting people of different origins and persuasions, learning from the experience of others. I am also looking forward to sharing with others what motivates me and encouraging others!
I use CS to make friends and build a social network. I will always share my gratitude with whoever hosts me. I want all that life has to offer!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Breaking Away is the "Coming of Age" film for me!
Music: Exploring Jazz and Spanish music! Also, anything I can dance/conga line to!
Books: House of Leaves, The Breadwinner, and Jules Verne, Octavia Butler, George R R Martin

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've raised money and awareness for the United States Bicycle Route System (USBRS), a nationwide network of signed bicycle routes which, when completed, will:
*Link together American landscapes
*Connect people and build communities
*Support small towns and businesses
*Create healthier, more active lifestyles
*Cut down pollution created by traffic

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to learn and share interesting stories/experiences. I’m an experienced guitarist and bicycle mechanic! Would love to help fix up your old, rusty bike.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Staying as a guest means respecting house rules, loving thy neighbor, and practicing common decency, first and foremost. Good etiquette includes doing household chores, cleaning up after oneself, watching volume, respecting privacy, and so on.

That being said, I'm happy to help around the house in any way I can! I also specialize in insightful discussion, entertainment, and flexibility to do anything on a whim. That which can be taught, I can learn.

My goal is to be the best company one can have.
