About Me

I smile and laugh easily, am very honest and direct (sometimes painfully so), and love sincere connections. I have very little patience for superficiality or skirting around something, and I value politeness and kindness.

I am a college graduate currently pursuing a career in the healthcare field. I work full time while solidifying graduate study plans. My main goal in life is to be of some use to others.

I love rainstorms, the cold, being quiet and observing the world around me, yoga, running, good movies, good food (especially Mexican), fiction or nonfiction, as long as it's written well, and.....I guess I'll stop there:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Excited to explore my country and the world throughout my life. Had a wonderful experience studying abroad in Germany back in 2012, and would love to have the opportunity to live in and travel to many, many more spots!

Interests

I like to stay informed on world events and politics. I love learning new things about the world, science, culture....I'm especially nerdy about linguistics and medicine (not that I know a lot, just that I get really excited;)).

I love podcasts and good radio programs!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bon Iver, the Postal Service, David Gray, the Smiths, Iron and Wine, Mumford and Sons.

Always on the search for rap that I like, but so far haven't nailed down more than a song here and there:P

Movies: The Hours, Lord of the Rings, Last Night, Like Crazy, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Breaking Bad, Deadwood.

Books: The Myth of Religious Violence, The Grass is Singing by Doris Lessing, A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson, and many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sweat Lodge, Silent Meditation Retreat, 7 week German Intensive where we took a pledge not to speak English, and I didn't:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Company, a meal, drink, walk, or conversation. I don't think I'm a good enough cook to offer to make a meal for you, but I am more than happy to contribute food or drink to your home.

A friendly, polite, respectful, and relaxed guest in your home.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
