Overview
About Me
I'm currently living with my partner in London, to do a PhD in a university in Guildford.
Before moving to London, I lived in some cities in Indonesia. In 2018, I lived in Brighton, UK for study purpose. I got a scholarship from the goverment of the UK to study MA in Gender Studies at The University of Sussex.
I grew up in Indonesia. I am a survivor of religion conflict in Ambon, a separatist conflict in Aceh, and Indian Ocean Tsunami in Aceh, 2004. Then I did my bachelor's in Psychology and involved myself in humanitarian works because having such experience motivated me to become the adult I wish my child self to meet. I enjoyed myself volunteering in special needs school, mental hospital, orphanage, in post-disaster and post-conflict areas, working with minority groups, etc.
After doing my masters in the UK, I returned to Indonesia to work as a Gender Specialist at an international charity company focusing on child rights. After that, I work in one of the UN's bodies to make gender equal, and inclusive Covid-19 recovery in labour sector in Indonesia.
Now I got accepted to a PhD studentship at the University of Surrey. That's why I am here, back into the UK.
I have met many interesting people from this Couchsurfing community and I wish to meet more awesome people from this community.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I heard about Couchsurfing from my friends. They told me their traveling experiences; being hosted, hosting people, and meeting from all around the world. Then I googled about Couchsurfing and I liked the idea of hospitality exchange because I think it can spread more love, cultural understanding, and the understanding of diversity, respect and tolerance.
