Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

Stay hungry.

ABOUT ME

I like being outside and I pretty much always have reading material with me. I love meeting new people and doing new stuff. I'll try (almost) anything twice and I really enjoy random adventures. I love a beer.
I think I have a good sense of humor, although I could be overestimating myself since I frequently find myself laughing at my own jokes. Sometimes I'm an early-to-bed-early-to-rise person, and then I'll randomly switch to staying up way too late and sleeping in. My "about me" is turning into a bunch of random comments, but then, that also speaks volumes about me.

PHILOSOPHY

"It never gets easier, you just get faster" -Greg Lemond

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, covered in scars, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming,"Yahoo, what a ride!"

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host, I surf, I go to local stuff. Basically, yes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed everywhere from a dorm room in Nashville to a Berber tent in the Sahara desert to a treehouse in a secret Neverland in Arizona. I've taken a nap in Jimi Hendrix' castle and shared a beer (or 3) with the 1966 World Champion Bull Rider. Oh, and I've hosted some pretty rad people too.

Interessi

The (over)use of parentheses. Learning new languages, rowing, cycling, sailing, and boats in general. Traveling, road trips, and black and white photography. Cooking, camping, and generally being outdoorsy. Listening to classical music, eating good food, watching sunrises, being warm when it's cold out, and the smell of pine trees.

Musica, film e libri

I read and listen to almost everything. I'm a big fan of Jon Krakauer and Jeffrey Shaara and James S.A. Corey , and everything in between. It's dangerous for me to enter a bookstore without a definite plan in mind. (Recent evidence has come to light that even with a plan, I should avoid bookstores). Same goes for music, I will listen to a George Strait song followed by Ratatat and then Tinariwen. I love it all. My all time favorite movie is Casablanca.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I have watched glaciers in Alaska break off and fall into the ocean.
I have been on board the USS Constitution, twice.
I have eaten haggis in a pub in Edinburgh.
I raced and played with porpoise in the ocean while on the clock at work.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I'm an encyclopedia of random knowledge and I know quite a few line dances. I love finding new music.
I want to learn to be a better storyteller, although I guess that's not really something you get lessons on.

Paesi che ho visitato
