ABOUT ME

I smile easily, I like to laugh and I'd rather give you a hug than shake your hand. Shooting the shit, kindness, philosophizing into the night, romps into the woods, knitting, beer appreciation, playing frisbee with a dog/kid, and relaxing in the sun with a great book.

I like to cook! Some of my favorite CSing times have been spent cooking with/for hosts in the kitchen, or picking up new techniques!

I've just submitted my PhD at the University of Edinburgh and I'm very very happy!!

Personally, I find that most of the time, all you really need is to do is just chill out, listen, and be grateful. Everything is fleeting, and that's actually a wonderful thing.

And, you'll never regret a shower.

I've been the recipient of a lot of amazing hospitality- thanks everyone!

Intereses

bbq, romping the backtrails, used bookstores, camping, meandering a city and ducking down the back alleys, live music, following your nose, listening to old people's stories, listening to little kids' stories, attempting to sew, puppies, brains, jogging, traditional music (the past few years I've been listening to a lot of Appalachian bluegrass), get-off-your-butt-and-dance music, and beets.

I sail, grew up sailing. The big dream would be to buy a live-aboard ketch with people I love and sail the world into our golden years.

Also, I'd love to live in a tree house for awhile.

I did a full moon hike up to half dome to watch the sun rise over the valley. Even with the hale pounding on my back, it was insanely beautiful!

I traveled the backcountry of Brazil solo as an ethnographic researcher for 6 weeks interviewing elderly musicians about their work and entertaining many an old woman by failing at the samba.

Sky diving in NZ was exhilarating too!

I can teach you how to sail and tie knots!

I'm also good at braiding and cutting hair. Many a roommate and family member have used me as their salon.

I love to help cook, or prepare us a meal.
I'm also happy to go off on my own, so if you need some down time I don't get offended if you want people out of your hair :D
