About Me
ABOUT ME
Evenings I like to curl up with a book, a good tea and a tv series. By daylight, with friends, sleeping in the park (seasonal dependant of course) or going for a bike ride around the city.
Until now I have been living in Strasbourg for just little over a year and I thoroughly enjoy the bi-culturality of it. The proximity of two completely different mindsets, the historically rich city, the old timber framed houses and the ability to change country within a 20 minute bike ride!
Before Strasbourg I spent 5 months working at sea on the cruise ships Costa Deliziosa and Costa Pacifica, which was an experience all by itself. You see so many places while spending so little yet it was nice to get back on land to regain my freedom and exercise my own decisions because who know what could be in store for me next.
I lived pretty much wherever I could find a job: Cologne, Germany, Madrid, Spain, Budapest and Edinburgh where I spent the longest period of time. For me, one of the most amazing open minded, artistic and international cities of Scotland. It was after moving to a big city and coming across people from all walks of life that I gained a desire to step out into the big wide world myself, working and volunteering in various countries on mainland Europe.
PHILOSOPHY
Everybody says that they're open minded and it's a skill that not only can you learn but continue improving. Listening to others to learn about what they've seen and experienced is the best way to do this and what better way is there than to stay on their couch?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I attempt to take part in a few couchsurfing events in whatever country I may be. Although I have not yet hosted, or been hosted by anyone. I find the couchsurfing events a perfect way to meet new people if you're travelling, when you arrive for the first time alone in a different city.
Interests
I'm open to all types of music, probably one of the best ways to get an insight to different cultures.
Love all genres of film, although I haven't been to the cinema in a few years Especially love thrillers and scifi but I do have a particular soft spot for animated and Romcoms too :-p
I read when I can, still trying to catch up with the classics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most unique experience for me so for was working on a cruise ship, I was always curious about the life, the work hours, the structure and now that I completed one contract I can answer all of these questions myself.
Packing up and leaving behind my job, friendship circles and routine to try and live somewhere else.
Besides that, living in Edinburgh is in itself an all year-round experience: Hogmanay, the Edinburgh Fringe, the pagan festivals Beltane and Samhuinn.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can juggle up to a maximum of 5 balls. I may be a bit out of practise now and could also juggle fire clubs but travelling with them causes problems so can help someone practise if need be.
From wandering about Europe, I also picked up a strong passion for languages if anyone is looking for language learning tips or practise
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'll admit that I suck at cooking although I can lend a helping hand or partake in grocery shopping,
