I learned about Couchsurfing a while ago, but didn't sign up because I wasn't sure about the site. Now, I'm planning on traveling more and based on other friends' experiences I decided to give it a try. Also, it sounds like a much better idea when you are trying to learn about the culture to stay at someone's home rather than a hotel.
