About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Been off for a while learning Japanese, completing my PhD and working professionally. Still traveling, meeting new people and showing visitors around my current hometown of Kamakura, Japan.
ABOUT ME
I love learning about other cultures and meeting people from around the world. I was raised in a multi-cultural and multi-racial family, so I'm very open-minded and curious about others in general. My friends are a significant part of my life- chatting, cooking together, and sharing a meal, going dancing, watching the stars on summer nights, sharing the shisha... I'm easy going most of the time, but I know how to work hard and play hard as well.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to enjoy every day to the fullest as life is too short
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm share my couch/guest room/futon/floor space as well as show visitors around my town of Kamakura, and Tokyo, Japan. When I'm unable to host, I love to share conversation and experiences over coffee/tea or a meal. At the moment, I'm unable to host as much as I would like because I'm moving back to the US, but please reach out if you're interested in just connecting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had the wonderful opportunity to surf with some incredible people when I traveled to Tokyo a few times. I had a great time meeting people and getting to know the city and it was even better because I was shown around a bit by several people whose couches I surfed and am still in touch with them.
I also hosted some lovely people passing through Ithaca for a couple of days- mostly sharing some home cooked meals, some laughs and just roaming about Ithaca.
Everyone should be a couchsurfer!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Paris skyline at dusk and dark from the 25th floor of a high-rise building, grew up on different continents and several different countries
My friends and I saw some heat lightning one evening driving home, and decided we should sit outside watching it until it turned into a thunderstorm. We grabbed a bottle of wine just as it started to pour, walked up to a spot overlooking the city, and watched the mist cover the city and the sky turn dark from the storm clouds. The rain passed quickly but it was a fantastic experience!
