About Me
Considering how everyone is surprised to meet me, I should say this: I am not Japanese!
In the spirit of honesty, I'm shy and weird around new people, but I warm up fast.
I love food and I love beer. I pass the time with cartoons, video games, and horror movies. In my past lives, I wanted to be a historian or an animator.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had some fantastic experiences couchsurfing in Europe, Egypt, and Asia. I've made some of my best friends on CS, and seen all kind of things I'd miss as a regular traveler.

I like history, ruins, and crawling around abandoned places.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: ska, punk, reggae, 30s jazz, old-timey ukulele, lots of stuff your parents liked, and stupid 90s rock for nostalgic reasons. I am a devoted mega-fan of the Slackers.
Movies: I like good horror, classic animation, Korean hyper-violent thrillers. Like everyone on earth, I also love Gibli, Pixar, and super heroes. (I hate to play this card, but I earned the superhero thing by reading X-men and the Avengers for 20 years now. So, yeah. Before it was cool. Ha.)
Books: I like the Chinese classics, depressing post-war era stuff, super hero crap, and history.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think that one great part of traveling is meeting new and fascinating people. I've had some bizarre and wonderful times with bizarre and wonderful people in spooky bars in Manila and a falling apart old car in Alexandria.
But another thing a lot of people don't think about is the alone time. Sitting on alone on the shore and watching the sun set into the Mekong in Luang Prabang is one of my favorite memories.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've studied Japanese for a million years, so I hope I can teach a little of that. My Korean mother is ashamed of my Korean, so you'd better not ask me to teach you it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm new to the area myself, so I'm just as excited to go exploring as you are! I think.
