About Me

Unfortunately I'm not able to host any guests, but I'm always interested in meeting people and showing them around so don't hesitate to message me :) Also if you have any questions about Åland or Finland I'd be glad to answer!

CURRENT MISSION

Just to live and make the most of it!

ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm an extroverted and honest 31-year-old Finn with a slightly odd sense of humor. I'm addicted to reading, I never leave my apartment without a book. I also watch a lot of movies and try desperately to write my awesome breakthrough novel.

I love having conversations about basically anything at all - from serious topics to just discussing ridiculous and fun things and laughing my head off. I love meeting new people and it's always enjoyable to learn about other cultures and countries.

I'm an ice hockey nerd (go go Toronto Maple Leafs) and I'm slightly obsessed with Canada.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just think that different people and different cultures can really compliment each other (did you know that the highest-ranked cities in those 'Most Innovative' lists are all cities with a large amount of immigrants and people of different ethnicities?). And it's just super fascinating to meet new people and hear stories.

Interests

I'm just interested in a lot of stuff, and I love to read about different things, visit museums, watch documentaries, talk to different kinds of people and learn about their cultures and lives.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love scary movies, good comedies and some sci-fi/fantasy stuff as well. Some of my favourites include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter movies, Midnight in Paris, The Exorcist, Mean Girls, The Hudsucker Proxy, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, The Shawkshank Redemption, 300, Lion King, Batman movies, I Love You Man, Cars, Horrible Bosses, Ted, Crazy Stupid Love, X-Men movies, The Avengers, Scream, The Exorcist, Psycho, Full Metal Jacket, The Shining, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Wizard of Oz, The Pianist, The Green Mile, The Notebook, 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless... The list is endless.

These days I pretty much listen only to Billy Talent (my all-time favorite band), Muse and Fall Out Boy, but I have a very varying taste in music.

On TV I like to watch How I Met Your Mother, Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Fargo, The L Word, The Flight of the Conchords, American Horror Story, South Park, Sex and the City, Girls, True Blood, Seinfeld, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Sopranos, Modern Family, Brooklyn 99...

I love reading and my favorite book is Lord of the Rings. Other favorites include (but are not limited to) Les Misérables, City of Thieves by David Benioff, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, anything by Dennis Lehane, A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite, anything by Jens Lapidus, One Day by David Nicholls, Harry Potter series, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho... Again, the list is neverending.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to see Toronto Maple Leafs-Colorado Avalanche at Air Canada Centre in November 2015. Leafs won. It was a perfect evening.
Me and my boyfriend took our first real holiday together, and that included a three-day road trip in Southern France, Andorra and Northern Spain - Saint Michel-Carcassonne-La Cortinada (Andorra)-Andorra La Vella-Sort-Huesca-Deba-San Sebastian-Capbreton-Saint Michel. It was fantastic to drive in the mountains.
I also rode a bicycle around Lake Constance in Germany/Switzerland/Austria; the views were amazing!
I lived in Karlsruhe, Germany, for five months while doing an Erasmus study exchange. That was a fantastic experience :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not very good at teaching anything but if you want to learn some basic Finnish or Swedish words and phrases, I'm up for it!
