About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Grow as a person by traveling and learning from places I can go to and people I meet
ABOUT ME
Love to travel (though I don't have as much money or time as I would like to do so all the time). Love art and all it's expressions. Love to hang out with my friends and enjoy good food and nice hang out places. I'm positive and organized. I'm active... can't be doing nothing for long periods of time. I need to have a project of some sort that I'm working on if not I get bored. I'd like to meet people who have an open mind about the world because that's the way I am. I love to learn from other cultures and peoples, so I love history, culture, languages and anything people can teach me that is different to what I usually do.
PHILOSOPHY
Look, listen and learn, everyone around you has something to show you and you can learn things from any situation and anyone. Never close your door to possibilities and open your heart to good things in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I know that with time my country has become more and more popular for people to visit, but with popularity comes the typical problems of people trying to take advantage of tourists, overcharging for services and so on. Being a local, and having foreign friends I have some knowledge of things that might (or might not) encounter and so can give advice about my country, not only what places to go but what places to avoid and, that can be handy for CouchSurfers looking for alternatives or for the ones that come here in a more spontaneous type of trip (planning as they go).
My apartment, although far away from the airport is close to everything in the capital city (San Jose) and I also know a trustworthy taxi service for those in need of transport and I have a spare phone for those who can spend an extra buck for extra communication.
In all, I'll try to help your experience in my country be as positive as possible, and hopefully be able to go and get to know your city a little better too!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Enough to know the enriching experience it is. So, far it's been difficult to host all the people that request my couch, but it's available as long as I'm not traveling myself ;-) The girls who have stayed are great and I have loved to discover that despite all my close ones'concerns, I have been right to trust people who happen to be just like me: travelers, respectful of others and their space, things and time. I did backpack recently in Europe but it was difficult to couchsurf (although I made some connections) because my trip was as spontaneous as could be and I didn't have any dates or times of arrival to the different cities... maybe next time I'll have a more planned travel so I can get to meet some CSs around the world!
Interests
Architecture and Design! (all sorts of design... recently I've been interested in graphic design) Art in general. Places, people and languages (I love any kind of cultural expression)
Astrology and history I also like. Science fascinates me like shiny things for children... I'll never study it but I love it when my dad explains the laws of physics in everyday life or when I catch a good program in discovery channel or something. Geography... I love to know things like, where a famous mountain is located or what is the capital of the countries and so on.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love the movies! Love live music! Enjoy quite afternoons reading under a palm tree (yep, I'm from a tropical country)! As I mentioned before, all sorts of art forms... so, going to art shows, the theater, but love urban art, the one that is free and out in the city for everyone to enjoy.
Movies to go to see at a cinema: Science Fiction, Fantasy and Action-Adventure (not much of a fan of Romantic or drama... unless they're really good... and probably not at the movies but rented)
Books: novels mostly... not so much for non-fiction. Recently I've been reading lots of books in English, but the latinamerican writers are great and I have some collections going on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Solo backpacking trip to Europe May-June 2008!
2. I was there to see the baby of one of my best friends be born... how amazing is that! (and scary!)
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, as an architect I may know things people would like to know... My passion is urbanism and the development of cities and their transformation into People-friendly cities, I know about it from books and the net and I made my graduation project in that field, but there is no practice in my country so I hope to learn more abroad and then be able to share more knowledge. I'm also an "on-the-job made" English teacher, I took a teaching job to finish my career (I needed money) and 8 years later I've become very experienced in language teaching: English and (my own) Spanish; I love it and I'd be glad to help others communicate better.
And I'd be very glad to share my knowledge about my country... as any native to any country, my knowledge is not too wide, but what I know I'll definitely share with others interested in knowing more about this little country in Central America.
