Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Silvia ( or Xilonén - my Nahuatl name). I'm a Los Angeles, CA native and love to travel the world in search of wonderful experiences and new friends. I was an auditor/accountant for 6 years with insatiable wanderlust, so I quit my job to pursue my wildest travel dreams. I love to visit cultural/historical sites, eat diverse foods, and hang out at the beach!
Throughout my travels I've found that connections can transcend language or culture (the most rewarding & meaningful thing for me). I am particularly fascinated with hearing peoples' stories that give me a glimpse of what local life is all about. I look forward to meeting you so we can learn from each other!
I have been a hostel backpacker for the most part, but look forward to joining the couchsurfing community. In addition, I am working on starting my travel blog to share my adventures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm hoping to make lifelong friendships and share experiences. Meeting people from all walks of life enriches my experiences even more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love to listen to rock n' roll, deep house/lounge, electronic, blues, jazz, classical, etc. I rarely watch movies (I know! Everyone seems shocked at this) but when I do, they are mostly international, musicals, or documentaries. I also love to read ( (urban) politics, world history, manga, poetry or anything inspiring in general). 📚
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently quit my job this past February to backpack the world starting with Asia! 🌏 This allowed me to achieve my life long dream of being face to face with komodos and to swim with mantas! ...which then inspired me to obtain the Padi open water certification!! Hurray for diving!! 🙌🏼
What I Can Share with Hosts
