About Me

I never know what to write when I am asked to talk about me. I wish I could do it with a movie, a book or a song because then, everyone can have his own interpretation about me but one won't be definitely enough. Plus, when I am trying to describe myself, I have the feeling I am on dating website, which makes me laugh. So far, It is pretty obvious I am an overthinker, but maybe it's not exactly the first best thing to say about me, ahah.

I am a simple, easy going and quiet person, that's why people say I don't look like a real italian, or maybe it is only because I am not a great chef!
I am cheerful, sociable and I love people. I love their lives, their thoughts and opinions about everything.. that's why I have decided to study psychology.
When I was 13 I started to say that I would like to study foreing languages to be able to live abroad one day and speak the native language of the country I am living in, because I thought it was the best way to get closer to people and their culture.
My dream came true one year ago when I moved to Cardiff, and since then I find travelling quite addictive because of the sense of freedom you can feel, because now I am even more interested in people, because I am discovering myself and because it simply makes me happy.

I am currently working in a 4 star hotel here in Cardiff as a waitress, waiting to start my PhD in developmental psychology in October.

I am always quite scared about changes and new experiences but I like to jump in it because I know I won't regret.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my year living abroad, I have met people from all around the world.
I have been really fascinated by the way they talk about their hometown or their country and the experience they have of it.

Therefore, I have the confirm of something I have always thought: visiting a city with locals it's the way of travelling that I consider more true. That's why I have decided to join the couchsurfing.

Interests

I love talking with people but sometimes isolate yourself from the world reading a book, watching a movie, or listening to music is awesome as well.
My favourite genre is thriller, both for books and movies but I am up for everything. For instance, I love Stephen King but the book "bisogno di libertà" by Bjorn Larsson is changing my life and it's an autobiography.
The same for music, rock is my favourite, but I find RnB music really rewarding to dance and I used to practice bellydance under arabic percussion melodies. So... I guess, I have never liked to be narrowminded, ahah.
Oh I love art, I am the kind of person who spend hours wandering in museums, listening to the guide talking through the headphones. I do love creativity and every form of its expression as well, I truly believe in its therapeutic power; art and psychology often walk hand in hand.

Music, Movies, and Books

it's impossible to pick, my favourite ones change according to my mood and the period of life I am living, but in these days I am really into:
- Bjorn Larsson: Bisogno di Libertà (there is no an english version of this book. Literally it can be translated as the need of freedom)
- 500 Days of Summer/Pleasantville
- Green Day, every song.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am trying to plan a road trip to Spain on my own. If I succed, this will be something amazing, considering my poor time management and organizational skills.

In general, I think that pushing yourself to overcome your limits and your fears it's always an amazing gift you do to yourself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Italian language and I can try my best to teach you some italian recipes, if you are brave enough!

I'd like to improve my french and spanish, once I am fluent I would love to learn new languages, and I'd really like to know everything about your country, culture and literature.

Share everything because that what makes you a richer person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my time with them and enjoying it together.
