About Me

I was born in Mexico and migrated to the U.S when I was 5 years old. As an migrant I feel as if I am not from here nor there. Instead I'd liked to think that I am simply from this planet (earth). I embrace my Mexican culture and am proud of my heritage and I also love the U.S as well as the rest of the world. I love learning and experiencing different cultures and their foods. I consider myself open minded and flexible. I have a high tolerance for discomfort and can always point out the good in any negative experience. I LOVE nature, my favorite sites to see are mountains, oceans, lakes, animals, waterfalls and any rugged landscape. I have tremendous respect for nature and acknowledge the importance of protecting it. I also have appreciation for man's creations, talent and art. Cities are also interesting and learning their history makes them that much interesting to me. I also love photography and consider it beautiful art. Photography has the ability to capture a moment in time and preserve it for future admiration. I have an undergrad in Psychology with a concentration in human development. I consider the workings of the mind highly intriguing and recent experiences have shed some light in to the immense and complex workings of the mind. Overall I am a very optimistic and open minded individual who embraces all sorts of experiences. I realize the importance of experiences over materials and have an open mind always willing to absorbs the beauty of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that travel is an opportunity to experience life from a different angle, without real life experiences we cut that opportunity short. I think it is important to immerse oneself in the culture and meet people and have the opportunity to get as close to the real experience of living in the place the I am visiting. I believe that couch surfing gives us a glimpse of the real life experience. Meeting interesting people with common or different views gives me the opportunity to learn something new. I seek real life experiences.

Interests

I love to listen to people's stories specially older people. Talking to an elderly person gives me an insight to the things that ultimately matter most. I love meeting new people and can find myself enjoying their company however, I get more satisfaction from relationships in which I have deep connections. I like to try new things as long as they don't violate my COR beliefs, "don't hurt myself or others" and I do have some dietary restrictions.
