Hi! Hola! Olà! Ciao!
I am Silvia, I’m 23 years old and I’m living in Lisbon, Portugal, even if I am italian, born in the wonderful Rome. I’m spending one academic year studying here, but probably I won’t come back in Italy soon, as I felt completely in love with this country, and in general with the international adventures. That’s why I would really love to travel the world: Couchsurfing is such a good occasion to do that! What I have learnt from my experiences abroad is that the most you can learn travelling is carried from meeting people who are living in the place you are visiting. And what’s the best way to meet them and enter in contact with their culture and daily routine? I really cannot ask more than this to be happy!
I am usually travelling with my boyfriend, RAUL, he is Spanish and I met him during this Portuguese experience. We are really similar, and most of the things I love, he loves too.

What I love?
Well, first of all NATURE: what I swear to myself is that in my life I have to see and enjoy as more different natural landscapes as I can. And in this project, the real king and queen of nature are of course involved: ANIMALS! I love all of them, I grow up in a close contact with a lot of different animals cause I used to ride HORSES. These animals have so much to teach, and the connection you can establish with them is deep for me.
Speaking about nature, after riding horse there are two other sports I really love: SURF and SKIING. Wherever I travel around the world is nice to discover new places to do that.
What I also like to have in my life is good MUSIC: I am an ACTRESS, and I can enjoy myself a lot just listening to some live music or singing with friends. I have worked as actress, costume designer, lighting technician, scenography designer and theatre teacher. This last job was really special, cause I did that with stuttering children, helping them to find out strategies to face their speaking problem, through the art of theatre.
CHILDREN has always been a part of the jobs I get in my life, and I really like to take care of them: for many years I used to help them with their homeworks, I am a real expert about that! :D I also worked in the summer schools and as a baby sitter.
I am graduated in PSYCHOLOGY, and I’m finishing my Master this year; after that I would really like to start an internship somewhere in America Latina, possibly working with economically disadvantaged groups, an area of social support that interests me a lot.
Finally, I need to mention one of my other love: PASTA. I really love restoration and cooking, I used to work in a restaurant and in many pubs. Italian food, of course, is my speciality and I really like to cook for people all around the world to make them discover our real tastes. Of course, I also like a lot to try new food from different countries, and that’s another great point of the Couchsurfing experience for me!
About my language skills, of course I speak fluently ITALIAN and ENGLISH, but also SPANISH and PORTUGUESE. I have good INFORMATIC SKILLS, as I used to work in the communication area of a no-profit psychology association. I have a DRIVING LICENCE, and I really like to drive.
The final thing to mention that I love is simply PEOPLE: they will be the entire focus of my future work as a psychologist, and since when I remember I loved to listen to them, their stories, their point of view, their ideas. I worked as a tourist entertainer in a camping in the South of Italy, and that experience teached me a lot about how to stay with people and enjoy it as deep as I can.

But what about RAUL? He is a deeply lover of nature, sometimes we just pick up the tent and we go sleeping in some wild landscape to enjoy it and breath the awesome pure Portuguese air. He is a really good surfer and music lover, he plays classic guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and synthetizer. He rides horses too, and love animals as much as I do.
