About Me
Hi there! I'm a traveling graphic designer and travel blogger currently out in the Great Big in search of adventure, new friends and good food. Upon graduating from graphic design school in Toronto, Canada (where I grew up), I decided I was going to take some time to explore the world rather than start on the usual path of school-then-job.
I love meeting new people, exploring new places, and sharing the things I've learned along the way. I'm a social justice junkie, die-hard alpine hiker, lover of flowers and all things beautiful, curious or strange, and will eat anything at least once (except for eyes. That's just ...no). I strongly believe laughter is the best medicine and reserve huge doses of it for use on myself. Most of all, I believe that the things that bring us together far, far outweigh the things that keep us apart.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Primarily, I am couch surfing to meet new people and create connection. I have spent over a year WWOOFing in Australia and New Zealand and have loved the friendships and family I have made in that way, and see couchsurfing as an extention of that but on a smaller time-frame.
I don't want faceless hotels when in a new place and feel like hostels can be very non-comital places as well, whereas sharing a space in someone's home really does require a certain amount of vulnerability and open-mindedness that I love to be a part of.
Interests
I'm a pretty eclectic sort though I tend towards the humanities and arts...but I love the sciences. Generally, let's just say I have a thirst for knowledge. I'm thrilled to discuss global economic protectionism and agricultural policies, or the poetry of Rumi, or just as well the Star Trek reboot franchise (Chris Pine is doing a fabulous job), or have an impromptu dance party in the living room (or any room) while talking about new ecological discoveries. I love a good debate and I love it when I can learn something from someone.

Music, Movies, and Books
Omg this is always both heinous and super fun. How can I limit myself? But...how fun it is of all the things that I've loved in the past!
Ok - music. Currently, the two artists in heavy rotation are Florence and the Machine's "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" and Groove Armada's "Soundboy Rock" which kinda does say it all...well, except I have a love for 70's American folk rock (think Fleetwood Mac, America, and the Doobie Brothers).
Movies - Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Heat, French Kiss, The Firm, Legends of the Fall...ugh this list could go on forever... Iron Man.
Books - First Man in Rome. The Thorn Birds. The Queen of the Damned. Lincoln. No Logo. DragonLance. We are Iran. The Prophet. The Alchemist. DUNE.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Been on the back of a jetski while scaling a 40ft. wave off the coast of South Australia and then raced down the wave face wile it was crashing behind me.
Biggest. Thrill. EVER.
