ABOUT ME

World Citizen, I was born in Lisbon but prefer islands. During 10 years I lived in four small North Atlantic islands: S. Miguel and Faial (Azores Arch -PT), Madeira (Madeira arch. -PT) and Sal (Cape Verde )
Maybe I am sea addicted because I live better near it! Recently I left the islands and join this new adventure of coming back to Lisbon to work with...marine organisms :) Constantly traveling for work, I pass months in different countries where I try to use the free time to know better the communities and traditions.

Love unexpected moments. To share a good laugh...and who knows, a glass of red wine!

Ah...and Yes, I´m also a Doula :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host as much as I can (always a good opportunity to travel...thought the eyes of the others). Im traveling at the moment so I cannot host until the beginning of next year (2017).

It is my preferable way of traveling for the opportunity to really know local traditions, genuine places and the people who live there. It is a shame that CS philosophy has degenerated in the last years to something "Tinder like"...

Hopefully there are still CS faithful to the principles of sharing moments without expecting anything back but the pure joy of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted the most in Faial. In Horta (the city) there is a "season for sailing surfers", when most of the surfers come by sail or come to enter in a sailing boat. That has been a great opportunity to know more about their experiences at sea and life (sailor) visions :)

My experience has been that the "sailing surfers" are a bit more trustful to show up then the surfers that are suppose to arrive by plane... Overall I had very good experiences hosting and had the luck of meeting wonderful and beautiful people!

As to surf...Im fortunate to have good friends in a lot of places who offer me their couches. I also surfed a bit using the platform but in the last years it has been more difficult to find hosts. Extremely difficult specially in Italy...do not know why!
