ABOUT ME
When I am laid back I am really laid back when I am raring to go live life to the fullest I really live it. I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities (back packing, finding swimholes, climbing, botanizing, learning to bird, surfing, growing things, and re-aquainting myself with fishing) primarily and to round this out I enjoy good music, food, dancing and interacting with people from all walks of life and cultures. There is always something to be learned from everyone you meet.
To pay the bills I have done everything from native plant landscaping to native bee research and I have done those activities in various countries. I am currently working for the Smithsonian Conservation Research Center where we test land management practices as well as care for exotic animals. However I am not involve with the exotic animal part and quite truthfully abhor the idea of animals in cages especially animals from different countries. My work is coordinating a landowner conservation and research group which focuses on keep natural lands out of development in several counties from Front Royal to Charlottesville, Virginia.
PHILOSOPHY
I live to interact with the world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I currently live in a cottage with 3 extra beds in a beautiful country landscape and would like to give others the opportunity to enjoy the access to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the beautiful landscape and wildlife viewing that can be done even from my front porch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been a 'couch'/'house' surfer unofficially during my travels and various seasonal employment both here in the states and down in Central and South America.
Two friends of mine have now suggested offering my space here in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
